Anti-Ragging Policy
1. Zero Tolerance Policy
The university strictly prohibits ragging in any form and follows a zero-tolerance approach towards ragging on campus and in all university-related activities. Ragging is a punishable offense under the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009, and applicable laws of the Government of India.
2. Definition of Ragging
Ragging includes any act that:
- Causes or is likely to cause physical or psychological harm
- Creates fear, shame, embarrassment, or humiliation
- Involves abuse, harassment, coercion, or intimidation
- Compels a student to perform acts violating dignity or self-respect
Ragging may be physical, verbal, emotional, sexual, or cyber-based, and includes actions within or outside the campus.
3. Scope
This policy applies to:
- All students (senior and junior)
- All academic, residential, sports, cultural, and transport facilities
- All on-campus and off-campus locations connected with university activities
4. Anti-Ragging Committees & Squads
The University has constituted:
- Anti-Ragging Committee
- Anti-Ragging Squad
These bodies function round-the-clock to:
- Monitor student activities
- Conduct surprise inspections
- Prevent and promptly address any ragging incidents
5. Preventive Measures
- Mandatory anti-ragging undertaking by students and parents at admission
- Orientation programs for freshers and seniors
- Display of anti-ragging notices at prominent locations
- Continuous monitoring of hostels, common areas, and campus premises
6. Reporting Ragging
Students may report ragging through:
- University Anti-Ragging Cell
- Faculty members or wardens
- University grievance redressal system

All complaints will be treated as confidential and investigated promptly.
7. Punishments for Ragging
Depending on the severity, punishment may include:
- Written apology
- Suspension from classes or hostels
- Withholding of scholarships or results
- Debarring from examinations
- Expulsion from the university
- FIR and legal action under IPC provisions
8. Protection for Complainants
The University ensures:
- No victimization or retaliation against complainants or witnesses
- Full protection and support to affected students
- Fair and unbiased inquiry process
9. Student Responsibility
Every student must:
- Refrain from ragging in any form
- Report incidents immediately
- Cooperate with university authorities
- Maintain a respectful and inclusive academic environment
